A PROGRAM WORTH USING IS A PROGRAM WORTH BYING !!!

@node Einleitung " What is it good for ... "
@{I}Why should I use NewPalettePrefs ?@{UI}
That was also my first question.
The C= PalettePrefs have a huge bug.
You can only edit 8 colours. For most people it should be enough.
But if you own a Workbench with more than 8 colours (because you
have much RAM or a graphics card) you cannot edit the other
colours. That's a pity if you have icons with more than 8 colours.
So, with NewPalette you can.
And by the way, it's also more comfortable than the old Prefs.

@{B} Shareware is ... @{UB}
-----------------
... probably the most used program form.
A shareware author gives you the possibility to test
the program. If you use the program on a regular basis,
then you have to pay the shareware fee.
If you don't, you use it illegally !
Many authors give you some extra services for registered
users, like an enhanced version or an update service.
The shareware fee is 10.00 US-Dollar or 20.00 DM.
Please send it to :

@{B} The registration @{UB}
1.) Please use the registration form.
2.) Please send an envelop with your address.
3.) And don't forget to put an empty disk in the envelop.
If one of these conditions is not ready, we can't deliver
your registered version to you.

@node Install " How to install ... "
Just double-click on the "Install"-icon.
If you don't have the C= Installer, then take it from
your Workbench-Install-Disk or from Fishdisk #720 and
copy it to somewhere in your command path.
You use the Installer-Software at your own risk !
No warranty !

@node System " Requirements ... "
This program needs an AMIGA, of course.
Further you will need OS-Version 37 to run it.
That's all !

@{I}The functions and how to use them ...@{UI}
First have a look at the picture. It's nice and shows you
how the program functions are called. So that you see which
gadget is currently explained.
@{" NewPalette - Picture " SYSTEM "IPV NewPalette_E.pic DELAY=2500000"}
@{B} Gadget + @{UB}
With these gadgets you can increase the red, green
or blue value of the colour which is currently edited.
@{B} Gadget - @{UB}
With these gadgets you can decrease the value.
@{B} vertical sliders @{UB}
With these sliders you can also edit the red, green and blue
values of the colour which is currently edited.
To increase the value drag the slider upwards.
To decrease the value drag the slider downwards.
@{B} Load @{UB}
With this function you can load the palette of any
@{B}IFF@{UB}-picture. If the picture has more colours than
your Workbench then only so many colours will be load
like your Workbench has. And the other way, the colours
will be load, until there are no more colours in your
picture.
@{B} Save @{UB}
Herewith you can save your Palette.
The default palette is saved under:
"Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys/WBColor.prefs"
If you want you can also change the file name. But always
the default palette is loaded after booting your system.
@{B} Undo @{UB}
Here you can set the palette back.
Don't forget to save your work first, if you want.
Double-Undo: Please look therefore in @{ " Keys " LINK Tasten }.
@{B} Ok @{UB}
Use the palette.
NOTE: It is not saved !
@{B} Bye @{UB}
That means the same as the CloseButton of the window.
Your work will be lost and the old palette will be used.
@{B} The Coloursquare @{UB}
Here are the gadgets with your colours. The more your
Workbench has, the more gadgets you will see here.
You can adjust it using the ScreenModePrefs.
To make a colour to the current just click on its gadget.
NOTE: The current colour is always shown in the square
right above.
@{B} R: / G: / B: @{UB}
Here you can see the current red, green and blue values
of the current colours. If you change them, they will
be updated immediately.
@{B} C: @{UB}
This is the number of the current colour.
NOTE: It begins with 0, not with 1.
@{B} Copy @{UB}
With this gadget the red, green and blue values of a
colour can be copied to another.

Click on "Copy"
Click on the destination colour
@{B} Swap @{UB}

as by "Copy".
@{B} Jump @{UB}

you can click everywhere on the screen outside the
NewPalette window and the colour you have clicked on
will become the current colour.

Drag it to the left and the sliding will become faster,
drag it to the right and it will become slower.
@{B} Spread @{UB}

and "Swap". If you don't understand what I mean try it
out and you will see.
@{B} Ramdom @{UB}
This function will generate a random palette. Just
click a little bit on it and when you like a color
or even the whole palette save it.
@{B} (R) Spread @{UB}
This means Random Spread. It's only available, if you have
a 16 or more colours on your Workbench.
Every 16th colour will become random values and then will
be spread. After using the function you will have some
fancy spreadings every colour-gadget-column.
Just try it out !
@{B} (V) Spread @{UB}
This is only available, if you have an 8-colour-workbench.
After clicking it you become 8-colour-spreadings.
